Senior Researcher
Rick Sklarz joined FM3 in the Santa Monica
office in 2004. He specializes in the design and implementation of
survey questionnaires and the analysis of opinion data for public finance
measures, nonprofit organizations, private companies, land-use/development
firms, and political campaigns.
He has participated
in a number of local and statewide campaigns including the successful
passage of Proposition 84, a clean water conservation measure; Proposition
71, the California Stem-Cell Initiative; Propositions 68 and 70, the
California Indian Gaming ballot measures; and the Washington State Charter
School Referendum 55. Further, Mr. Sklarz has provided research for
candidates seeking public office at the City, County, State and Federal
levels.
Mr. Sklarz is
highly experienced in conducting opinion research related to
education. He has conducted survey research for many K-12 and
community college districts throughout California
and has helped secure billions of dollars through ballot
measures to improve the quality of education at local public schools.
In addition, Mr. Sklarz regularly conducts survey research for municipal
governments seeking to secure additional revenue for local services through
voter approved ballot measures.
Mr. Sklarz
joined FM3 after receiving a master’s degree in Public Policy from the
University of Southern California. Mr.
Sklarz also spent three years as a member of U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman’s
staff in Washington , DC where
he worked on a variety of issues, including transportation, budget and
